Implementing stringent environmental regulations and agricultural policies is crucial. These should aim to reduce the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides in butter and sugar production, which contribute to water and runoff from intensive farming practices that pose a substantial threat to water quality and aquatic ecosystems.
